Me in a sea of beautiful quilts...!

I took the quilts to Incarnation Lutheran Church in Poway, CA and laid them out over the chairs in the sanctuary to photograph them.  Thank you to Rev. Karla Seyb-Stockton, Associate Pastor, for providing the opportunity.

30 quilt tops tied together with the backings all ready for me to quilt!

It was a very productive challenge!

We met in the parking lot and gathered all our supplies...

We were pleased to be able to award these quilts, along with 25 more, to the surviving veterans of the Taffy 3 Battle Group from WWII.  Please click on the "Taffy 3 Event" tab at the left to find out more about that wonderful event.

On August 1, 2014 the San Diego Padres again hosted a group of quilters at Petco Park for a fun evening of baseball and quilting.  We were treated to dinner and the game in a skybox then gathered in a meeting room and sewed until dawn.  During this time we had fun visiting with friends from the 1st event and producing the quilt tops for Quilts of Valor.  We upped our goal for this event and produced 30 quilts.  A fun time was had by all and we greatly appreciate the financial support, again, from the Padres which allowed us to make these beautiful quilts.  Go Padres!!
