I had the honor and privilege of quilting seven quilts made by Mr. Al Lind, a World War II veteran and former POW pictured here in 2009 at the age of 91.  Mr. Lind began making quilts in 2007 at the age of 89 and until his passing at the age of 95 in the Fall of 2010, he had made over 500 quilt tops.  His quilts have brought comfort to many service members who have been touched by war.

Six of Mr. Lind's quilts were among the 55 quilts that were awarded to the surviving WWII Taffy 3 veterans who attended their 70th Reunion in San Diego on October 24, 2014.  Click on the Taffy 3 Event button on the left for more information about that event.
